Patients with central vertigo should be evaluated for cerebellar stroke or hemorrhage, particularly if they have:
- Prominent stroke risk factors (eg, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes mellitus)
- New-onset headache
- Neurologic signs/symptoms (eg, weakness/numbness of the face or limbs, dysarthria)
